My Role
At Mercedes
During my internship at Mercedes, I worked on Coros, a logistics application. I engaged in user research and executed the overall UI, UX and interaction design for the Fleet Management App as well as interaction design for the Driver App.
Welcome:
Summary Cards
A modular card UI is used to display essential and key daily information of the day. Allowing managers to attend to urgent matters from a glance of information.
Modular
Dashboards
The interface for the fleet management app is designed using a modular dashboard with grids varying depending on the data it presents
Translated
Hierarchy
The route information section organizes the many layers or data and information from individual drivers commute. Presented with a clear overview, each stop could be expanded for more info.
Check in +
Assets Page
The Check in page allows the managers to check for vital information prior to the start of the dispatch such as Van health, gas status and more.
Intelligent
Selections
Upon loading, managers require some manual adjustments to maximize efficiency. This tool allows managers to merge some overflown packages with those which has more space. UI disables irrelevant options based on data like route info.
Performance
Summary
The Performance Summary displays the performance of each station through a star diagram, giving a clear overview across several data points at a glance.
Messaging
The Messaging UI features a tabbed view to easily toggle between ket stake holders.
Prototyping
Origami was used to build a prototype and study user interaction strategies as well as structuring various animation parameters, states and conditions for development
Conclusion
The key experience working on Coros was from working with such a massive network of data points and distilling it down so a clean and concise initial interface. Through that I've learned several ways of collapsing and expanding layers of information contextually.
